Pioneer receiver on/off IR code is different every time

It look like I have the honour to post the very first message here. Hopefully someone listens...

I've used the Python library to get the IR code for my Pioneer receiver, using the original remote. When displaying the HEX code after the learnAV command, I see that this long code is different every time. Does anyone know why that is? The funny thing is: when I just use one of the codes to emit it via the Motedem, it does work! So I actually don't have a problem, but I'm wondering why the codes don't seem to be consistent.

Thanks everyone for reading and hopefully replying ;-)

Similar question has been posted on Kickstarter Comments, and the answer is that some equipment behave that way, mainly in the A/V domain.

Dim is right, the repeat pattern is normal for A/V controls (mainly due to long press) and the nature of A/V codes. (think VOL +, VOL -) or CH UP and CH DN, if you press longer, it keeps emitting so the receiver does keep adjusting UP / DN accordingly.

AC codes on the other hand is a discrete code.

The chipset encrypts them, the encoding once decoded will show same actual IR code.

Thanks for your replies. It's all clear to me.
